01Who runs RIGHT
RIGHT is run by Emre Türkoğlu, an individual Apple developer (not a company), who also runs STAND and UP. Contact: team@standrank.com.
02What RIGHT collects
- Account: your Sign in with Apple identifier, the email address Apple shares (your own or a private-relay address), the name you use on RIGHT, your date of birth, the app language you choose, and an encrypted Apple token used to revoke Sign in with Apple when you delete your account.
- Sessions: for each sign-in, a random session id and a hashed refresh token with its expiry date.
- Cases: the title, the category and the other side's role (for example “Flatmate”), the videos you record with their sound, a cover frame, the audio track taken from each video, the transcript of what is said and its language, and the case's state, votes and result.
- What you add to cases: witness statements, comments and replies, the support you give to comments, your votes, and requests to settle a case or to remove a case you were invited to.
- Jury activity: the cases you pass in the Jury deck, the verdicts you have seen, your rightness ratio and your jury accuracy.
- Safety: your reports, the people you block, the results of the check before publishing (passed or not, the reasons and the model used) and the team's decisions on reported content.
- Device and notifications: an APNs device token for the notifications you allow, the device language, your notification settings and the notifications RIGHT sends you.
- Links: each case's share code, invite and witness links, and how many times a link was opened. Only the count: RIGHT does not record who opened a link or their IP address.
- STAND and UP: if you are a member of STAND or UP with the same Apple ID, RIGHT can read your STAND Level and your UP status from them and keep a copy. STAND can read your rightness ratio from RIGHT to show it as a badge.
- Server logs: Google Cloud logs the requests that reach RIGHT's servers (IP address, the address requested, the time, browser or app details). When something fails, RIGHT also logs your member id.
03What RIGHT does not collect
- Your location, contacts or photo library. RIGHT does not open the gallery: videos are recorded only with the app's own camera.
- Advertising identifiers or tracking. RIGHT shows no ads, does not sell personal data, and has no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
- Cookies. right.standrank.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
- Payment details. RIGHT has no payments.
04Why
To run your account; to show cases, collect votes and count results and ratios; to send the notifications you allow; to check every video, statement and comment before it goes live, as Apple's rules and RIGHT's community rules require; to stop abuse; and to find and fix errors.
05The check before publishing (OpenAI)
Before a video goes live, its audio track is sent to OpenAI to be transcribed. The transcript and the title are then checked with OpenAI for insults, threats, personal data (such as full names, addresses, phone numbers or workplaces), hate, topics RIGHT does not cover, and signs of crisis. Comments and written statements are checked the same way before they appear.
OpenAI receives no image, and not your name, age or Apple ID. The text is used only for this check, never for advertising or profiling. Under OpenAI's API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train its models; OpenAI may keep it for up to 30 days to watch for abuse.
06What other people see
- Cases are public to everyone using RIGHT: the title, the category, your video, your name and age (never your date of birth) and your STAND Level if you have one.
- Comments show your name and the side you took. Who voted for which side is never shown, only the totals.
- Your profile shows your rightness ratio, your cases, the votes you gave, your jury accuracy and your past cases with their result.
- The other side of a case cannot be identified until they accept the invite: no name, photo or other detail, only their role (for example “Flatmate”).
- Share links: members can share a live or closed case. The link opens a public page on right.standrank.com/c/… for anyone who has it, with the title, the sides' names and ages, their cover frames, the split of votes and the verdict. Search engines are asked not to index these pages.
- Invite and witness links open a page that shows the inviter's first name and the case title, and nothing about the person invited.
07Who else receives data
- Google Cloud runs RIGHT's servers, database and file storage (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage) in the EU (Belgium). Videos sit in a private bucket and play through short-lived signed links.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple and push notifications (APNs). The text of a notification passes through Apple's push service to your device.
- OpenAI performs the check before publishing described above.
- Cloudflare provides DNS for the standrank.com domain.
- STAND and UP, the sister apps run by the same developer, as described above.
- Slack: internal alerts for the RIGHT team (for example when a report arrives) go to a private Slack workspace. They carry ids, categories and reasons, never names, videos or the text of cases and comments.
- RIGHT does not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
08Keeping and deleting
- Your content stays while your account exists, unless you or the team remove it.
- A case that is removed, by its owner, by the team or after a removal request, is hidden from everyone. Its record stays for the team's review.
- Delete account (Settings → Delete account): the cases you opened are removed, closed ones too; a side you told as the other side is taken out and that case stays one-sided; your comments and statements are removed; your videos, cover frames and audio tracks are deleted from storage and their transcripts are wiped; your blocks, notifications, device tokens and sessions are deleted.
- After deletion your member record stays only as an anonymous entry, without your name, date of birth, email or Apple ID, so that the votes you gave keep counting as anonymous numbers and results stay consistent. Removed cases keep their title and category as hidden records that no longer point to you.
- RIGHT first asks Apple to revoke Sign in with Apple; deletion completes even if that request fails. Signing in again with the same Apple ID creates a brand new account.
- Server logs are kept by Google Cloud for its standard period (usually 30 days).
09Your choices
- Choose which notifications you get in Settings → Notifications, or turn them off in iOS Settings.
- Report a case, comment or member, and block a member; a blocked member disappears from every list for you.
- If you were invited to a case, tell your side or ask for the case to be removed; a removal request hides it at once.
- Delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion cannot be undone.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for a correction, by email to team@standrank.com. We answer by hand within 30 days.
10Age
RIGHT is not for anyone under 18. The date of birth asked at sign-up makes sure of this. If you think someone under 18 uses RIGHT, write to team@standrank.com and we remove the account.
11Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Important changes are announced in the app.
